Ok...who has one...who wants one...who knows anything about them?
I broke my LG Voyager lastnight and am seriously considering getting a Droid. But I have questions that probably are better answered by other consumers or tech-heads rather than some Verizon desk jockey salesman. _________________ Some people are so dense.....light bends around them. |

It's verizon, so they've locked it down and if you even try rooting it they'll cut your little finger off.
If you want a real Android you'll have to go t-mobile or sprint. _________________ Make friends with exhaustion. |

T-mobile and Sprint have shite for service in my area. But Verizon gives me 5 bars of signal damn near everywhere.
Besides...I'm not THAT much of a techie nerd to hack it.
I am however more than enough nerd to want one. _________________ Some people are so dense.....light bends around them. |

| That was quick. All I've used on it is Google Navigation, but it's a significantly better GPS than my Garmin is. |

I love mine as well. I fully intended to post a review up here, but to be fair I've only had it about a week.
Things I like:
The screen has insane resolution (854x480) which translates to higher than dvd quality
Crazy amount of apps
Nes, snes, genesis and gba emulators with tons of games
Google listen: use rss feeds to listen to your favorite podcasts-downloaded or streaming.
Sports, news, and virtually any update you want in app or widget form
Open platform
Its linux!
What I don't like: the keyboard is tight and the battery life is poor. I still get through my whole day, but it's D E A D by the time I plug it in at night.
That's actually it for what I don't like. The internet is fast, pages load like I want them too. Lisa actuallly wants one to replace her iPhone!

Its a Google experience phone, which means that it has to be open, verizon agreed to this when it worked hand in hand with Google and Motorola to design the phone. In reality its more of an open device than the iPhone is due to supporting open source applications. _________________

Good luck with that. He pretty much just sleeps there...God help you if you get him going about it. He is stupified-ly excited about it.
By the way, he did start a thread on here about it somewhere in anticipation of it's birth. It's pretty much his first-born child.
I can tell you from messing around with it for all of 4 minutes that it weighs about the same as 3 iPhones combined. It's pretty solid. I think you could use it to stop a car from rolling down a hill by placing it behind the tire. _________________ Pioneer broke my heart.

All metal and glass construction...none of that sissy plastic molding here.
You drop and iPhone....it shatters.
You drop a Droid.....it DENTS! (not that I plan on EVER dropping my precious)
Just sayin'...it's rugged as hell. _________________ Some people are so dense.....light bends around them. |
