Well, they've committed to it being free in some form or another. The Wave Protocol Federation has a pretty big developer base and is highly active, and they've promised to at least release the protocol details so you could always implement your own. The awesome thing about it is the extensibility: a company could create services built on top of the base server. It's better than RPC and socket programming. If you've ever done any of that, you'll know that some protocols get very convoluted.
It has a lot of potential.

It's not just what he said...it's how he said it...after listening to him rant for the short amount of time the video took.....the last statement summed it all up. I started laughing all over again just reading G$ quote it.
